What do I do with all this mail?

Between my kiddos bringing home their schoolwork, artwork, coloring, etc., It feels like my countertops can get so overwhelmed with things that don't have a particular space to live in. I say this because my mail used to get lost in all of the shuffle of life, until I started to find solutions to the things I knew were coming home. So, what do I do with all the mail?

I went shopping and these are my favorite finds:

Once you have a designated spot, here are some simple rules to follow to keep things running smoothly:

  1. 1. GO through it immediately when you get it from the mailbox. Don't give it a place to live on the counter. Things you don't need can go right into the trash, coupons you plan to use can go where you plan to look for them first, and then create a spot for bills to come back to if need be.

  2. IF you are not the person who handles the mail, give it a home so the person who does go through the mail can see what needs to be addressed.

  3. As an added benefit set a reminder on your phone if you are the designated mail person to ensure it gets done, once or twice a week or even every day so it does not build up.

  4. REMINDER: If you let it build up, it will overwhelm you to the point where you will not be interested in dealing with it every day. And remind yourself, it will only take 2-4 minutes to do an initial review!
